Who is behind this site
gardenroutetour.com is run by Patrick Kühne, an independent travel publisher based in Markkleeberg near Leipzig, Germany. He builds and maintains a small portfolio of guides to attraction tickets and tours — including addoelephantsafari.com for Addo day safaris and several guides to Cape Town, such as visitcapepoint.com and capewinelandstour.com. There is no agency and no rotating editorial team behind this site: the pages are researched, written and kept up to date by one person — the same one who answers the e-mails.
What this site does
A Garden Route tour from Cape Town is mostly a question of time: how many days you have, how much of them you are willing to spend on the road, and which stops matter to you. The tour names on booking platforms rarely make that obvious — some tours called “Garden Route” spend their days in the Overberg and at a game lodge rather than in Knysna or Tsitsikamma. We describe what actually separates the tours — the route day by day, the driving time, where you sleep, which meals are covered and how the cancellation rules differ — and show live prices so the choice can be made in one place. We are not a booking agent: every reservation happens on GetYourGuide.
How we earn money
